Usually we tend to highlight the differences between cascade and agile methodologies.
But it is also interesting to note the common points: for example 'planning by products'.
One of the mantras of the agile methodology is the ability to complete portions of potentially usable product.
To do this, a sprint planning is necessary, which consists of grouping a series of features to be developed and delivered over the sprint time frame.
Prince2 instead provides that the planning of the entire project is made starting from the identification of the products to be delivered. Like all project management methodologies that are based on the project life cycle, Prince2 also requires that part of the products to be delivered be made up of the project documentation.
For example, the feasibility analysis is to be considered one of the products of the planning done with Prince2, while it could be an element of the backlog of a sprint in Scrum.
The difference between Scrum and Prince2 in this case is in the definition of priorities: Scrum looks at the ROI of the functionality to be developed, while Prince2 is based on the precedence between one product and another.
